Ebony Beach Club has partnered with Black Lives Matter and invites you to the Santa Monica Pier for a Juneteenth celebration unlike any that California has ever seen. We’re bringing sun, surf, and soul to the pier in a full-day experience honoring Black joy, freedom, and community. From morning surf lessons to a highly anticipated DJ line up while enjoying the warm presence of our community at sunset. But this isn’t just about a good time—it’s about making history on the very shores where history tried to erase us.
Ebony Beach Club on the Santa Monica Pier is more than a Juneteenth celebration, it is a rejoice, restoration, and reclamation of space rooted in real Los Angeles history.
Let’s make waves together. #JuneteenthOnTheBeach #EbonyBeachClub #BlackLivesMatter

This year, Ebony Beach Club is proud to partner with Black Lives Matter, where 100% of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Black Surfers Collective and Aquatic Futures Foundation—two organizations doing incredible work to create equitable access to the ocean and provide healing justice to our community through surf, environmental connection, science education, and marine career pathways. Both are empowering the next generation to engage with and protect our oceans.

Why the Pier? Why Now?
In 1957, the original Ebony Beach Club was founded by Silas White in Los Angeles and set to open as an exclusive Black social club that created a space for leisure, elegance, and escape during Jim Crow-era California when most beaches were still segregated. Prior to the club’s official opening, the city of Santa Monica claimed eminent domain on the building that once stood at 1811 Ocean Avenue and claimed it would be needed for a “Civic parking lot”. Though the physical space of 1957’s Ebony Beach Club never had the opportunity to thrive, the spirit never died – it evolved.
Fast forward to today, and we’re channeling that same energy—bold, brilliant, unapologetic Black JOY—back to where it all began. The Santa Monica Pier, once a site of exclusion for Black beachgoers, becomes the exact place we reclaim through dance, culture, and celebration. This is a full-circle moment—celebrating on the same land that our elders were pushed from while making space for joy, culture, and presence where it was once denied.

This is more than a party— it’s a movement on water.
RSVP now. Bring your people. Tell your auntie. Make it a moment.

How do I get there? What about parking?
We highly encourage riding the Metro E Line to Downtown Santa Monica — it’s just a short walk to the Pier! If you’re driving, there are several nearby beach lots and parking structures. Rates range from $10–$20, and lots fill quickly — so come early or rideshare if you can!
