The One Music Festival in Atlanta, GA, has become one of the largest festivals in America, attracting over 50,000 diverse music lovers from all over the nation. In 2022, the festival’s theme was joy. Invited to build an installation for the festival, our goal was to display unique flavors of Black Joy, grounding in rest, art, and celebration. We constructed a 30X30 physical art installation designed as an adult playground. Guests spent the day playing, swinging, dancing, and embracing other child-like activities. Our installation was a collaboration with three prominent Black artists: Mr. Legacy of LegacyHistoryPride, Ezra Naylor, a dynamic visual storyteller, and, pierre bennu, a legendary multi-hyphenate artist based in Baltimore, Maryland.
With a 70’s-vintage themed color palette, we aimed to merge Afropunk with Coachella and bring people of all ages together in a physical, mental, and spiritual experience as they perused the festival grounds.
Our installation was a collaboration with three prominent Black artists: pierre bennu, Mr. Legacy, and Ezra Naylor.
pierre bennu is a Black artist we have worked with in the past to create his beautiful, original Breathe pieces. Drawing inspiration from him, we are dedicating a section of the installation for people to find stillness watching this rejuvenating piece.

Ezra Naylor, a dynamic visual storyteller, crafts narratives that transcend traditional boundaries. With an unparalleled ability to convey emotion and provoke thought through visuals, Ezra brings a distinctive perspective to every creation. His work isn’t just about what meets the eye; it’s a journey that invites viewers to explore the depths of expression and meaning.
